Athlone Half Marathon
The flatline is back
Following on from the great success you all made last years race we're back again in 2013 on the same weekend - Saturday, 14 September 2013. Registration is now open on the runireland website
The AAI certified route remains the same as last year, starting at St. Aloysius college and will take you along the banks of the river Shannon out to Clonown before you turn and return in the Ballinasloe road back to Athlone. Take a look at the course. With a total elevation gain of just 79 metres it’s the flattest half marathon around that’s why we called it the “Flatline”. If your looking to achieve a Personal Best time then this is the race for you.
Take a look at our training plans to help you achieve a PB
Our race is 6 weeks before the Dublin marathon in October and 3 weeks before the Athlone ¾ marathon so this race will fit perfectly for anybody training for the Dublin marathon. It’s much easier race events than do those long runs on your own, we know we’ve been there! The Athlone half marathon is an event run by runners for runners.
The cost of entry remains at €20 for online registration and please note that this year there will be no registration on the day of the event.
