Irish Wheelchair Association Athlone

iwa2The flatline are committed to helping raise awareness and funds for local charities. Every year we have helped raise funds for charity through different schemes, and this year is no different.

We are deligthed to announce that for 2016 the flatline’s Chosen Charity is  once again the Irish Wheelchair Association Athlone.

In 2015 we raised €3,270 for the Athlone branch of the IWA as well as donating to St. Aloysius college and Clonown community group.

As one of the leading service providers across Ireland the funds raised by participants in the flatline allows IWA Athlone to continue to have a real impact on the lives of people with disabilities living in our community.

IWA’s fleet of accessible buses play a vital role in delivering services to people in their local communities on a daily basis. Over 60% of IWA’s 121 accessible fleet is over seven years old including the two resident buses at Athlone Resource & Outreach Centre, Clonbrusk.

With this in mind Irish Wheelchair Association Athlone has just begun a campaign to purchase a new accessible bus for the Athlone Resource & Outreach Centre and the funds raised through a percentage of every entry of the Flatline will help in purchasing this new bus.

In 2014 almost €3,500 was raised for South Westmeath Hospice, and Rachel’s wish to walk.

Donations were also made to St. Aloysius college and Clonown community group.

By supporting the flatline you are also supporting local charities.
